A SINGER-songwriter who has been performing for 17 years will be in concert with her band in Bingley.

Thea Gilmore, whose latest album, Ghosts & Graffiti, is due for release on April 27, will be at Bingley Arts Centre on Saturday May 16.

Since being described in Q magazine in 1999 as "already in a league of her own among UK female singer/songwriters" Gilmore has released 14 albums.

She has peppered national radio playlists with literate love songs, and her last album, Regardless, was a top 40 hit in 2013.

Her work features socially conscious songs that form a narrative thread focusing on key issues of the last 20 years, including the Stephen Lawrence murder, the War on Terror and sexism in celebrity culture.

Ghosts And Graffiti is a 20 track double album where Thea Gilmore looks both forward and back over her career.

It includes all her best known songs on one record for the first time, as well as four new songs, and six newly recorded versions of songs from her back catalogue.
