HAWORTH acoustic singer Em Sargant will perform in a barn tonight (March 12) along with My Darling Clementine and Plumhall.

The unusual venue is the Cruck Barn at the Craven Arms in Appletreewick.

Young singer-songwriter Em Sargant is said to consistently wow audiences with her beautiful voice, excellent guitar playing and unique interpretations of well-chosen material.

The concert is the latest in a series of successful performance nights that have brought music stars, including members of The Wonder Stuff and The Levellers, to the barn.

The headliners are My Darling Clementine, alias Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish, who recreate the classic sounds and themes of great country music duets but by singing new material.

The pair have been described in the press as 'a Johnny and June for our time', playing 'elegant, grown-up country', while brilliantly evoking the feuding spirit of George and Tammy.

Nick Hall, one of the concert’s organisers, said: “With their gorgeous harmonies and their witty stage persona, a fantastic night of music is guaranteed.”

Plumhall complete the line-up following their regular performances in the Keighley and Haworth area.

Nick, one half of Plumhall, said the Yorkshire band was currently taking the UK by storm.

He added: "Our debut album was hailed as a 'hidden gem' by the Guardian and our live shows and songwriting skills have recently won us awards and propelled us onto television."

Nick, also a member of the Hall Brothers, is joined in Plumhall by Michelle Plum who was formerly in the cult band Chumbawamba.
