A KEIGHLEY couple are taking part in a professional production of a classic play next week in Bradford.

Well-known amateur actors Richard and Mavis Walsh will be in the community cast of modern classic A View From The Bridge.

They join fellow Keighley Playhouse actor Mike Ellison in ensemble scenes during the week-long run at the Alhambra Theatre.

Earlier this month (March) the Keighley News revealed how Mike had been chosen after auditions held by the theatre company staging Arthur Miller’s masterpiece.

Richard and Mavis have now been chosen to perform alongside TV actors Michael Brandon and Jonathan Guy Lewis in the gripping tale of family strife in 1950s New York.

In a starkly furnished apartment in a close-knit community of Italian migrants, Longshoreman Eddie Carbone and his family have a secret burden that will slowly tear them apart.

Richard said: “We knew that A View From The Bridge would be a fantastic experience for the audience.

“To be even a small part of the team on stage helping create a top class play at a top class venue we were absolutely delighted to be selected.”

A View From The Bridge runs from Tuesday to Saturday. Visit bradford-theatres.co.uk or call 01274 432000 to book tickets.
