THE SEQUEL to smash hit musical Dreamboats And Petticoats is coming to the Victoria Theatre in Halifax.

Dreamboats And Miniskirts portrays what happens to the characters of the original show as their lives move into the 1960s.

The greatest songs of the decade are performed as part of the light-hearted and romantic show from April 27 to May 2.

Since its premiere in Bromley in 2009 Dreamboats And Petticoats has become a musical phenomenon, playing to more than two million people across the UK.

It was inspired by Universal’s multi-million selling album series, which now boasts seven double compilation albums and several one off special releases.

The same creative team, which included long-time TV comedy writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, last year developed the sequel Dreamboats And Miniskirts: Summer In The City.

It’s 1963, and the world is changing for the three couples from the first show.

Bobby and Laura’s single Dreamboats and Petticoats is only half a hit, Norman and Sue have settled down to non-marital bliss and a baby, and Ray and Donna seem blissfully happy.

The advent of the Beatles and the Merseyside sound is inspirational, but will it inspire Bobby and Laura to have one more shot at stardom?

Will Norman to “get off the drains” and find that hit parade voice he has longed for, and will Ray realise his ambition and manage a really top pop act?

All will be revealed in a follow-up that promises to have the same wit, charm, and great songs as Dreamboats And Petticoats.

The latest show is again written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind TV shows Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds Of A Feather, The New Statesman and Shine On Harvey Moon.

The new show features hits like Twist & Shout, Handy Man, A Picture Of You, Don’t Ever Change, Do You Love Me, It’s In His Kiss, Hippy Hippy Shake, Go Now, When Will I Be Loved, Pretty Woman and One Fine Day.

Hit musical Avenue Q will be performed at the Victoria Theatre from September 29 to October 3.
