COMEDIANS Mitch Benn and Luke Wright are both appearing at Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds.

Mitch will perform his new critically-acclaimed show on Saturday, featuring the kind of comedy songs that have made him a favourite on BBC Radio’s Now Show.

The comedian said his show would make people laugh a lot and think a bit, as he debunks myths, exposes nonsense and grapples with the very nature of knowledge itself.

He extols the virtues of an evidence-based approach to life with amusing consequences.

Mitch recently co-presented Anatomy Of A Guitar on Radio 2, presented last year’s show Mitch Benn Is The 37th Beatle on radio, and presented Spank The Plank for Radio 4.

Luke Wright will present his latest show, Stay At Home Dandy, on May 7, celebrating his dual life as a “jobbing fop” and a “paunchy dad”.

He promises that his visceral verse will take a peak behind the curtains of middle England to tell the captivating stories of ordinary people having extraordinary moments.

Luke writes bawdy bar room ballads about small town tragedies and Westminster rogues.

His fast paced, witty poems are set to be crowned full of yummy mummies, debauched Tory grandees, maudlin commuters and leering tabloid paps.

In his live shows Luke mixes the wistful with the downright comic to take audiences on an incredible emotional journey.

A spokesman said: “Wright’s poems are expertly crafted but the vernacular is modern and entirely his own.

“His live show strings poems together with a flowing narrative deepening the story with warm, anecdotal stand-up, ensuring a night unlike any other.
