SKELETAL Family are to release a retrospective box set chronicling their career as one of the UK’s longest-established Goth rock bands.

The Keighley group, who had a number one chart hit in the 1980s, will release the discs on Cherry Red Records later this year.

Roger ‘Trotwood’ Nowell, one of the founder members with Anne Marie Hurst and Stan, said: “We are at last seeing light at the end of the tunnel with the retrospective.”

The Skels have for several months been trying to record a new album for their many modern-day fans in the UK, Europe and America.

But this has been postponed due to bassist Trotwood's commitments to Paul Weller, touring as the Modfather’s guitar tech to promote Pail's Saturn's Pattern album.

Trotwood said: “Owen Richards has taken over on bass, while Anne Marie and Stan have also toured an acoustic set.”

Skeletal Family also recently performed a show in Milan with iconic 80s singer Lena Lovich.

Trotwood said: “This was a mission with missed connections, taking 11 hours to get to the gig, but the band still put on a great show.”

Trotwood will be back in the Skeletal Family line-up on August 29, when the band headlines the Wave Festival in Brazil alongside She Past (correct) Away, The Frozen Autumn and The Invincible Spirit. Anne Marie and Trotwood will also do a DJ during the festival.

The Skels will warm-up for the Brazil show with a gig at Keighley’s Exchange Arts Centre.
