The Brontë Blues Club will bow out tomorrow (July 10) with a concert by US blues trio Moreland & Arbuckle.

The club’s last-ever gig, in the usual venue of Laycock Village Hall, will have a party atmosphere during the performance by the guys from Wichita, Kansas.

Moreland & Arbuckle have been described as “the future of the blues” and are hard-rocking outfit featuring cigar-box guitar, harp and drums.

Guitarist Aaron Moreland and harpist/vocalist Dustin Arbuckle have spent more than a decade exploring the edges of American roots music.

In the process the group have forged a relentless and haunting sound that merges Delta blues, folk, rock, traditional country, soul and numerous other influences.

In 2013 the two men were joined by their drummer Kendall Newby, and released the ambitious 7 Cities.

Tickets cost £15 and are available from bronteblues.com or in person from the Turkey Inn in Goose Eye. Doors open at 7.30pm and as usual BBC5 will provide support.
