MOORFEST is moving indoors with an alternative music festival called ‘Plan B’.

The weekend of music at the Exchange Arts Centre in Keighley is being organised following the cancellation of the first Moorfest.

The planned outdoor festival at the 3 Acres pub above Keighley was cancelled due to licence issues and poor ticket sales.

Plan B, which is being held this Saturday and Sunday, (July 11 and 12) will feature some of the bands who were originally due to play outdoors at Moorfest, and will also raise money for the Manorlands hospice.

Exchange spokesman Michael Watmough said: “We were very sad to hear about the cancellation of Moorfest.

“People put in a lot of work, and you should never underestimate what it takes to organise an outdoor festival.”

For Plan B the Exchange has teamed up with the Musicians Centre – which is in the same building on Russell Street – music studio Jam on Top and Novasav Promotions.

There will be a main stage and an acoustic stage on both days.

Saturday’s main stage acts will be We Are Atlas, Hollow Earth, The Filthy Palms, The Ramblers, Stig Of The Dub and The Promenade.

The acoustic stage will feature Felka, Jo Pybus, Georgina Drake, Ben Blue Waters, Suki And The Tomcat and the Last Minute.

Sunday’s main stagers are Man Can’t Fly, Operator Six, Wolf 359, As Sirens Fall, MurderPuss and the Glory Holes.

Over on the acoustic stage there will be Diamond Dac, Keystone, Admiral Drowsy, Rosa Sargent, Declan Vink and Johnny B.

Organisers stressed that the line-up is subject to change and could be added to. Visit exchangearts.co.uk/events/plan-b-festival-two-day-festival for up-to-date information.

Tickets are only available on the door, costing £12 for both days or £7 for a single day. The event starts at 1pm on Saturday and finishes at 11pm on Sunday.

Moorfest was organised following the scrapping of the nearby Woodfest which have been held for several years to raise money for Manorlands.

The new event was to split the proceeds between Manorlands and Target Ovarian Cancer.
