A NOT SO bare cupboard brings about a world of slapstick and musical treats in a family show in Huddersfield.

Old Mother Hubbard And Her Cupboard will be performed at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield on November 28.

Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard to fetch her poor dog a bone, but when she got there, the cupboard was bare...or was it?

A dotty old woman takes youngsters on a nursery rhyme journey as she clatters about in her kitchen and her dancing dog sniffs out trouble in the most unlikely places.

This show is devised by visual theatre company Garlic Theatre who use image, puppet animation, movement and live music to create their award-winning shows.

There is a chance for young audience members to meet the beautifully-crafted puppets.

The show is described as a fresh adaptation of the classic story, and an ideal introduction to the fun of theatre for any child aged three and above.

Old Mother Hubbard And Her Cupboard will be performed at 11am and 2pm.

Also at the venue, Tell Tale Heart will present a playful and vividly inventive new version of Snow White, set in Yorkshire and featuring a brass band of magical miners and a perilous chase across the moors.

The Christmas spectacular will premiere at the Lawrence Batley Theatre from December 11 to 27.

The story has been reinvented for modern times and promises to lift the popular fairy-tale from the coal black ground to the snowy skies, weaving aerial and circus skills, live music and great drama into a fantastic new version of the much loved story.
