POP STAR Frankie Bridge from The Saturdays is the first celebrity contestant confirmed for the next Strictly Come Dancing live tour.

The hugely-popular annual tour will visit the arenas in Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester during January and February.

Frankie, a finalist in the 2014 series of the BBC show, was due to appear in last winter’s tour, but had to step down after finding out she was pregnant.

Frankie said: “I was so disappointed not to be able to perform in this year’s Strictly Tour.

“Following the birth of my son in August, I’m thrilled to have been asked to join the 2016 tour. It will be great to get my dancing shoes back on and be part of the Strictly family again.”

Frankie will join the new Strictly tour host Mel Giedroyc and judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli for the 30-date live extravaganza.

They will be joined by celebrities and professional dancers from this year’s TV series, with a winner voted each night by the audience.

Comedy star Mel is a presenter of TV mega-hit The Great British Bake Off and is known as a Strictly super fan.

She said: said: “I’ve been a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing for many years, so am thrilled to be hosting the 2016 UK Live Tour.

“I might even shake a leg myself - as long as Strictly provide me with a surgical corset!”

The Strictly come dancing tour will be performed at Sheffield Arena on January 26 and 27, the First Direct Arena in Leeds on January 28 and 29, and Manchester Arena on January 30 and 31.

Performances are at 7.30pm from January 26 to 30, and in Manchester there will also be a 7.30pm show on January 30 and a 1.30pm show on January 31.
