KEIGHLEY Comedy Club is offering an alternative to reheated Turkey, unwanted presents and TV repeats.

It aims to enlighten the lull between Christmas and New Year with a night of hilarity at the town’s Café Choux Choux.

Sarah Franken and Adam Rowe are among stand-up comics performing on December 27 from 8.30pm at the venue at Keighley railway station.

Organiser and compere Chris Brooker said headliner Sarah was all but impossible to fully describe in a few short sentences.

He said: “A whirlwind of energy, Sarah brings innumerable characters to life before your very eyes.

“Guaranteed to be unlike anything else you've ever seen, her talent and timing will leave you gasping for breath from laughter whilst leaving you wondering how one person can fit so much into such a short time.

“Non-stop, original and brilliant, Sarah may well be the finest US comedy export to hit our shores in many years and she has to be seen to be believed.”

Liverpool's Adam Rowe will begin the night’s entertainment at the Café Choux Choux.

Chris said: “This fast rising star from Merseyside has seen his stock soar in recent years, plying his trade all across the land alongside some of the biggest names in the business.

“Throughout it all Adam's never lost sight of his roots and will charm the socks off you with his jokes, banter and tales of life around the former European Capital Of Culture.”

The night will be hosted by Chris, the resident MC, alongside shorter sets from two other acts.

Tickets are available in advance from Cafe Choux Choux or the Cricketers' Arms, in nearby Coney Lane. In past years the Christmas show has always sold out beforehand.
