KEIGHLEY hip hop promoter Saby Khan has returned from Dubai where he helped break the record for the world’s longest DJ Rally.

Saby, real name Sabir Hussain, is a frequent visitor to Dubai where he organises concerts and other events at the city’s major nightspots.

For his latest project Saby teamed up with Dubai-based event organisers Nadeem Chourdary of World Top DJs and Farid Yousafi and Amir Mohsen of Bong Events.

They were invited to work on the DJ Rally by Emaar Properties at Dubai Mall, which the company owns.

Saby said. “I began promoting the DJ Rally with award-winning-reggae artists Apache Indian at the Music Room concert in Dubai in September. I was responsible for assessing all DJs who went on the stage.”

Saby said the actual rally featured 151 DJs performing together non-stop for more than eight hours.

He said: “It was a hard target to reach as the previous record was 133 in 2014 from Singapore, it was my duty to make sure I had enough DJs going on stage to break the record.

“The atmosphere was electrifying and full of energy, we had people watching us all day from the four-storey shopping centre.

"After the Dj Rally I had to give interviews to several TV channels and newspapers from United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Pakistan, India and Saudi Arabia."

The DJs will return to Dubai in January when the Guinness Book of Records will present them as certificates at the prestigious Armani nightclub at Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, also owned by Emaar Properties.

Saby plans to reunite with Nadeem for another DJ Rally to break their own record in London.

Meanwhile in 2016 Saby will manage West Coast rapper Jayo Felony during the NWA European tour with Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Xzibit.
