SOUTHAMPTON goth-punks Creeper are spending the winter on a headline tour of the UK to support the February 19 release of EP The Stranger.

West Yorkshire fans will have to wait until April, however, when they perform at Beckett University in Leeds on a joint tour with Neck Deep.

They have been compared with My Chemical Romance in their early days, performing perfectly executed punk rock and driving horror punk.

The Stranger follows the critically-acclaimed EP The Callous Heart and successful tours with The Misfits, Funeral For A Friend and Moose Blood.

Creeper last year also played the Download Festival, the Vans Warped Tour UK and Camden Rocks.

The Stranger, produced by Neil Kennedy at The Ranch, establishes a theatrical air of foreboding with the mood-setting opener The Secret Society.

The band’s love of The Misfits, Alkaline Trio and The Damned is very much in evidence throughout the pop-punk attack of Valentine, while their inherent sense of energy is infused with the spirits of Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman in Black Mass.

Closing tracks are Misery, a soul-baring vocal/guitar duet, and climactic Astral Projection.
