KEIGHLEY singer-songwriter Den Miller is the latest local artist to perform as part of Cliffe Castle Museum’s new music programme.

The Bradford Council-run museum has organised the first live concerts in the historic building for more than 100 years.

The Haworth Ukelele Group have already performed in the Bracewell Smith Gallery – the museum’s gallery for temporary exhibitions – to a great public reaction.

Den, who regularly performs in Keighley, the Worth Valley and across the district, will perform on Sunday, February 14.

He said: "I'm really looking forward to it. I took my guitar along to check the sound, and the acoustics truly are amazing.

“The Bracewell Smith Gallery is a large high-ceilinged room with great acoustics.

“The gallery has a few entrances and exits, so people will be free to wander in and out, but there'll be seating too for those that want to stop and listen."

Den said Cliffe Castle Museum was in the process of planning a Community Music Events programme for 2016.

He added: “They will bring a range of local performers into the museum to take part.

“They are hoping the fortnightly and monthly events will be an exciting new avenue of community interaction between different local groups.”

The informal concerts will be held on Sundays from around 2pm to 4pm in the Bracewell Smith Gallery at the museum.
