KEIGHLEY band The Sailmakers have released their debut album entitled Vines.

The album is available from all major download sites including iTunes and Spotify.

Alan Raw, from BBC Introducing, has praised the Sailmakers for their “incredible songwriting” while Michael Head, from the band Shack, described them as an outstanding upcoming band.

The Sailmakers are singer and lead guitarist Ryan Madden , singer and synth player Tess Donovan, bass player Richard Furness and drummer Ian Atkinson.

The band were loosely formed in 2008 from a collection of Keighley musicians.

A band spokesman said: “With some some changes in members and configurations along the way, one thing remains consistent - their passion for sound and creativity.

Written by Ryan and Tess, Vines takes a contemporary spin on the synth-driven sounds of the past. Comprising of unique and infinitely surprising melodies, this LP is set to make its mark on the new music scene.”

Vines also features Lee Southall, formerly of chart band The Coral, and is described as the product of “devotion, hibernation, driven by change”.

Vines was recorded and produced by Ryan at The Sailmakers’ purpose built Delicious Recording Studio in Keighley.

Formerly a joiner’s workshop, the studio has been transformed into a “creative haven for songwriting and experimentation”
