BRADFORD panto king Billy Pearce will be joined by Darren Day in this year’s Alhambra pantomime.

The pair will board the Jolly Roger and head to Neverland to star in Peter Pan from December 17 to January 29.

Yorkshire’s best-loved comedian Billy Pearce, in his 18th Alhambra Theatre pantomime, leads the cast of the family show, promising dastardly pirates, a high-flying hero and a barrel full of laughter. Billy, who will play the role of Smee, is an award-winning comic and actor having received a British Comedy Award, Solo Comedian of the Year, Best Television Comedy Newcomer, and the Yorkshire Arts and Entertainment Award.

His varied career has seen him star in theatres, cabarets and summer seasons across the UK, and perform for royalty at eight Royal Variety Shows.

Joining him is actor, singer and television presenter Darren Day who will play the dastardly Captain Hook.

Darren has had a varied career having starred in musicals Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Grease, Summer Holiday, Godspell and White Christmas.

He has also hosted You Bet! and Don’t Try This At Home for ITV and appeared in The Bill and Holby City.

Earlier this year Darren came third in Celebrity Big Brother, released his album This Is The Moment and is currently starring as Tick in the UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Peter Pan marks the second time Darren and Billy have worked together, having starred in the UK tour of Stand Up – The Musical.

In addition to comedy, music and audience participation, Peter Pan will also feature an exciting 3D

sequence which will take audiences deep into the ocean on a magical underwater adventure, and amazing special effects including the biggest crocodile in panto-land.

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s Pantomime division, said: “We are delighted Billy is back in Bradford once again, and to bring Darren with him is a great coup.

“Darren is a fantastic singer and actor, and an extremely talented impressionist, so Peter Pan will be

packed full of laugh-out-loud comedy.”
