BRITISH guitarist, singer and songwriter Sam Carter will play in Saltaire next month as part of a summer tour to support the release of his third solo album.

This work, called How The City Sings, was produced by Dom Monks, who worked with Ethan Johns on records by Laura Marling, Paolo Nutini and The Staves, and keyboardist Neil Cowley, best known for his contributions to Adele’s 19 and 21 albums.

Sam's new album features 12 songs based around the theme of London, ranging from affectingly intimate pieces to others brimming with righteous rage.

It is the most personal album of Sam's career and was released on April 8 on Captain Records.

Since the release of his previous solo album, The No Testament, Sam has toured the world, equally happy to perform on his own, with a band or to collaborate with other artists – including a trip to Pakistan to work with revered South Asian classical musicians Sajid Hussain and Haroon Samuel.

He will play at The Live Room, in Saltaire, at 8pm on June 3. Visit theliveroom.info or call 01274 594021 to book tickets.
