PHILIP Cockerham has been booked to play the second Middleoftheweek night at Keighley’s Exchange Arts Centre.

He will headline the new regular acoustic folk evening at the Russell Street venue on June 8.

Middleoftheweek made its debut last night May 25, and will continue on alternate Wednesdays throughout 2016.

JLM Entertainments, set up by Keighley songwriter and musician Jackson Lake, aka Alastair Leeming, aims to showcase the region’s most engaging and talented songwriters.

Jackson is working with the Exchange and Keighley Musician's Centre, which is based in the same building.

Jackson said: “There are sure to be some fantastic evenings of original music from some extremely talented musicians.”

The launch night featured Addingham’s Serious Sam Barrett and American singer/songwriter Doug Nissley.

Coming up are Brighouse troubadour Roger Davies (June 22), the Jon Palmer Acoustic Band (July 6), Scott Wainwright and Rory Holl (July 20), Lucas Watt and Emma Clarke (August 3), Nick Hall (August 17), Skinner & T'witch (August 31), Weave (September 28) and Gary Stewart (October 12).
