ANOTHER brilliant night music is promised at the latest Groovy Happening.

Four acts will take the stage at the Parkside Social Club, Haworth, on Saturday, July 2.

The headliners are Radio City, whose members have been playing in other bands for many years.

Ann Wiles, one of the Groovy Happening organisers, said: “They offer a wealth of experience and playing a mix of music from the 60s to present day music, rock, pop and funky.

“They are now a locally-well-known seven-piece party band playing private functions, weddings and pubs.

“Radio City played at our Christmas party last year, and what a good night that was!”

Also taking to the stage at the Parkside Social Club in Butt Lane will be John Bruce.

Ann said: “John been playing for many years in bands and is now an acoustic solo singer with a huge repertoire of music from folk to pop.”

At the Groovy Happening John will be fronting the John Bruce Trio with John Brooksbank on bass guitar and Steve Gibson on drums.

Ann said the Groovy Happening had been waiting for a long time to give a warm welcome to the award-winning songwriter Chaz T.

She said: “Come along and enjoy his entertaining and witty songs of love, dodgy politicians, the joy of terrible trousers and numpty hunting.”

Completing the line-up will be Luke Carter.

Ann added: “We have all seen Luke playing before at Groovy in one of our favourite bands, Do Miss America. He is playing guitar tonight and will be joined by a guest vocalist.”

The Groovy Happening will as usual end with a disco, and there will be a charity raffle. Doors open at 7.30pm and admission is £3.

Proceeds will go to the Manorlands hospice in Oxenhope, who have received £19,000 from previous Groovy Happenings.
