TV PRESENTER Sue Perkins will be in Halifax on September 7 for an evening of wit, merriment and stories about Mary Berry.

She also present the best bits from her bestselling comic memoir Spectacles during the Victoria Theatre performance.

Ticketholders receive a copy of Sue’s book Spectacles – which is published in paperback on July 28 – and she will sign copies after the show.

Sue has long been part of double act Mel and Sue, and TV programmes like Light Lunch and Late Lunch.

Sue has also worked on a range of solo projects, including ‘conducting up a storm’ on BBC show Maestro, power-eating with food-critic Giles Coren on Supersizers, and travelling during The Mekong River With Sue Perkins.

She is also a regular contributor to Have I Got News For You, Just A Minute, QI and The News Quiz, as analysis of presenting quirky panel show Insert Name Here.

And obviously she is presenter on the Great British Bake Off.

Spectacles was published in hardback last October, when the Independent On Sunday described it as a “warm, crisp and beautifully layered delight”.

Heat said: “It is brilliantly written, fearlessly honest and full of heart, and will also make you laugh like a gibbon.”

Dick And Liddy’s Comedy Club will be in the Victoria Theatre’s Green Room Bar on July 29 and August 26.

The Gruffalo’s Child, based on the popular picture book for young children, will be performed on August 6 and 7.

The Bootleg Beatles, with UK’s longest-established tribute acts, can be seen on August 20 following their European tour.
