MEADOWLARK will play Headrow House in Leeds on September 26 after releasing new single Quicksand.
The emotive song was written by the Bristol duo after being deeply moved by the story of a family working in a brick kiln in Pakistan.
Singer and keyboard player Kate McGill and guitarist Dan Broadley learned about the family on the website Humans of New York (HONY), where the story helped raise $2 million for a charity working with families trapped in this situation.
The sparse arrangement of the resulting track and McGill’s “crystalline” vocals are said to create a captivating and emotional listen.
