OMID DJALILI is taking his new show Schmuck For A Night on a 108-date UK tour calling at Bradford and Leeds.

The Daily Telegraph said Omid was one of the most joyfully smart, stimulating and entertaining comedians in the UK, while Metro said he was confident, engaging and thoughtful.

Schmuck For A Night begins with the proclamation from Omid: “Look, I’m just trying to make sense of everything.”

As a stand-up and acclaimed actor, Omid’s credits range from Hollywood movies and television to live productions on the West End stage.

He has appeared on UK and US television, and starred in films such as the Golden Globe and Oscar-nominated Shaun The Sheep Movie, along with Mr Nice, Gladiator, Sex And The City 2, The Mummy and The Infidel.

Omid was seen in the BBC Four series Going Forward with Jo Brand, and made appearances in recent months in Dickensian for BBC1 and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man for SKY1.

Omid has also executive-produced the documentary We Are Many, about the global anti-war demonstrations that took place in 800 cities in 2003, hailed as the largest mobilisation of human beings in history.

The documentary was released by Universal and July 18.

The Alhambra will also host comedian Jimmy Carr with his Best, Ultimate, Gold Greatest Hits Tour when he will perform the most popular material from his 15-year stand-up career.

The show will be on October 1.

Ken will bring his annual Happiness Show to the Alhambra on October 22 when he promises the audience will be absolutely discumknockerated by a truly tattifelarius evening of laughter and songs.

Over at Leeds Town Hall, comedian Ross Noble, billed as “everyone’s favourite randomist”, will present his latest show Brain Dump on November 30.

Ross started out in comedy 25 years ago at the age of 15.
