FEROCIOUS Dog will play Haworth next month following their triumphant performance at Glastonbury.

The Nottinghamshire band pulled the biggest crowd ever for a 6pm slot on the Left Field Stage at the famous music festival.

They will perform at Haworth Community Centre advance of joining The Levellers for their 25th anniversary tour of the UK and Europe in November and December.

The Worth Valley audience can expect rawness and passion in a unique take on traditional Celtic folk.

Ferocious Dog mix traditional instruments like fiddles, whistles and mandolins with buzz-saw rock n' roll attitude.

A spokesman said: “With their unique, aggressive yet feel-good music they tear up venues across the country often bringing their faithful Hell Hounds along for the ride.

“This year Ferocious Dog have snarled their way from the periphery of the festival and gig scene and put themselves firmly in the limelight of the alternative scene.

“They sold out Rock City, Nottingham, the first band ever to have done this, selling 1,900 tickets.”

"With the release of their new album From Without, the raw energy and passion you’d expect from Ferocious Dog is ever-present."

The band plays Haworth Community Centre in Butt Lane on September 10 from 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12.50 by visiting m.bpt.me/event/2536330 or calling 01535 645992.

Proceeds will go to the Manorlands hospice.
