NERVOUS ‘Orse will headline next month’s Groovy Happening music night in aid of Manorlands.

The Bradford band promise danceable rhythms, singalong choruses and breathtaking harmonies as they play the concert in the Parkside Club, Haworth, on September 3, from 7.30pm.

In return for the £3 admission fee music lovers can also see General James Blakk, Reuben And Ruth and Caledonia Road.

Nervous ‘Orse are described as a unique four-piece original band from Bradford, who based their sound around great songwriting and lyrical content, and breathtaking harmonies.

Groovy spokesman Ann Wiles said: “With shared songwriting responsibilities and an eclectic mix of styles, you’ll experience an array of sing-along choruses with a rhythm section that never fails to get the feet moving!

“Dave, Jake, Danny and Luke have a wealth of experience and talent; their blend of styles and musicianship is beautifully showcased through their energetic live performances.

“The melodies, lyrics and swapping of lead vocals give the audience a unique and original experience.”

Reuben and Ruth play folk-tinged original music combining piano, guitar, accordion and harmony vocals.

Their album, containing mainly self-penned material, was released on iTunes last year and its songs have featured twice on BBC Introducing.

Ruth is Danish and has a music degree from Leeds College of Music, while Reuben is a Bradfordian who has a City and Guilds qualification in plumbing.

Ann said: “Reuben and Ruth are both regular volunteers at Groovy Happening and it will be great to see them perform for us again!”

Doors open at 7.30pm at Parkside Social Club in, but Lane, and there is a disco and raffle.
