SHAPPI Khorsandi is back on the road with her new tour and has arranged dates in Leeds and Harrogate.

Oh My Country: From Morris Dancing To Morrissey was a sell-out hit at this summer’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Shappi is celebrating the 40th anniversary of her arrival in Britain by setting out to reclaim patriotism, sending a love letter to her adopted land.

A spokesman said: “Please don’t come if you’re a skinhead (though naturally bald folk are welcome).

“She has whip-crack jokes and is effortlessly funny as she handles every subject with a razor sharp wit, softened only by her deliciously mischievous delivery and endless charm."

Summer also saw the release of Shappi’s debut novel Nina Is Not OK, following her bestselling A Beginners Guide To Acting English, published in 2009.

The Guardian said Shappi had plenty to say, with pointedness and potency, and the London Evening Standard said she made live comedy thrilling.

She also been nominated at the prestigious British Comedy Awards in the Best Female Comic category up against fellow nominees Jo Brand and Sarah Millican.

Shappi has appeared on television on Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News for You and Q.I.. She has also appeared as a panelist on ITV1's Loose Women and BBC One’s Question Time.

In December last year Shappi was elected president of the British Humanist Society.
