SINGER Roger Davies will be performing live for the first time with his new four-piece band on Friday, September 9.

Roger, a regular performer in the Keighley and Haworth area, will be the Green Room Bar at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax from 7.30pm.

Roger recently accompanied folk/rock legends Fairport Convention as their guest on a 30-date national UK tour.

In his own right he has had a busy year selling out venues including Square Chapel Centre for the Arts in Halifax, Seven Arts Centre in Chapel Allerton and Huddersfield’s Lawrence Batley Theatre.

Roger also performed on the main stage at the 2016 Beverley Folk Festival.

A spokesman said an evening with one of today’s most engaging songwriters was not to be missed.

He said: “Roger’s song Wear Your Poppy With Pride has raised thousands of pounds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and his latest solo album Roger Davies: Live at The Topic Folk Club was released this March to glowing reviews.

“It became an instant hit amongst both his existing fans and newcomers to his music.”

Roger’s newly assembled band will showcase a selection of songs from his back catalogue as well as some brand new material.

He said: “I know I’m established as a ‘travelling troubadour’ type of solo artist already, but now I can offer my audience a more dynamic concert experience and really present myself and my music in the way I’ve always wanted to.”

Many of Yorkshire man Roger’s songs celebrate aspects of his locality and his community.
