FUNNY Girl will come to the Alhambra hot on the heels of a record-breaking, critically-acclaimed West End run.

The “utterly irresistible” musical will be at the Bradford theatre from June 6 to 10 next year as part of a national tour.

Funny Girl brought global fame to Barbra Streisand 50 years ago and boasts some of the most iconic songs in film and theatre history, including People and Don’t Rain On My Parade.

The show tells the story of Fanny Brice, whose vocal talents and comedic ability saw her rise from Brooklyn music hall singer to Broadway star.

The Financial Times said: “Michael Mayer’s vivacious production has wit, charm and energy, sparkly choreography, and a strong, ebullient cast.”

Director Michael Mayer’s West End and Broadway credits include Spring Awakening, Thoroughly Modern Millie Hedwig And The Angry Inch and American idiot.

Casting will be announced at a later date. Visit bradford-theatres.co.uk or call 01274 432000.
