A GROUP aimed at anyone who wants to sing for pleasure is starting this month in Glusburn.

Chris Skidmore, an amateur singer who enjoys helping others to gain the rewards that music can bring, is starting a Singing for Fun group at Glusburn Institute.

Based on a successful group in Ilkley, this is a chance for those who just want to sing for pleasure, have fun and liven the spirits.

All abilities are welcome and no previous experience is necessary. This group starts on Tuesday, September 27 and will meet weekly from 10am to 11.30am.

Chris offers a different opportunity in Addingham for those who just want to listen to music from all classical genres and would like to find out a little more about it.

Chris will be presenting again his weekly opportunity to go Beyond The Classical Top Ten.

This course aims to widen the appreciation of music by introducing learners to a wide variety of recorded music.

Each week the group starts with a well-known piece and takes a musical journey to find others that are related.

The first meeting will be on Monday at 1.30pm in the Old School Room, Main Street, Addingham.
