A COMEDY duo who sent-up the Brontës in Haworth last summer have turned their attention to Jane Austen.

LipService have taken their latest show, Mr Darcy Loses The Plot, on a tour that includes the Square Chapel in Halifax on Saturday October 15.

Jane is sitting writing, her quill scurrying across the vellum, and she dreams up Darcy, a proud, lip-curling, handsome creation in very tight pants.

But then a door squeaks, a visitor approaches and Jane hastily hides her work. Mr Darcy is left dangling.

Left to his own devices Darcy embroiders his own storyline while his creator stitches her quilt. When Jane returns she finds the plot has moved on and Darcy is dancing to a different tune.

For many years LipService have performed a Wuthering Heights send-up, and this year they created Charlotte The Movie to celebrate the Brontë writer’s 200th anniversary.
