KEIGHLEY Amateurs have announced they will present classic musical My Fair Lady in October next year.

The group hope to follow the success of their modern musicals Grease, which was performed to sell-out audiences last month at Victoria Hall, and The Producers.

My Fair Lady, famously filmed with Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison, portrays a cockney flower seller’s transformation into a lady after taking speech lessons with a pompous professor.

The show features songs like Wouldn't It Be Loverly, The Rain In Spain, Get Me To The Church On Time and I Could Have Danced All Night.

An Amateurs spokesman said: “My Fair Lady has just been re-released for amateurs so we are pleased to have got the rights.

”The show, set in London's Covent Garden, offers lots of opportunities for all ages, great roles for principals and supporting cast, who will be playing both poor people and posh people.”
