CHEERLEADERS from a team run by Keighley teenager Sian Reid are competing in hit TV show Britain’s Got Talent.

The stunt squad from Team X-Treme has been accepted for the auditions of Simon Cowell’s talent contest on December 11.

One of the girls, Samiya Bradley, will also have a solo audition in the hope of winning a place in the TV heats.

Team X-Treme, which provides cheerleaders for the Keighley Cougars rugby team, was set up by Sian when she was just 16.

Craven College student Sian herself was for several years a member of the leading Bradford cheerleading Panache, competing in the cheerleading world championships in America.

At the age of 14, while at Holy Family School, she became the youngest member of the Rugby League World Cup cheerleading squad, performing across the UK.

Most recently Sian returned to Florida to compete with the Aviator Allstars Team Stealth in the finals of the cheerleading world championships.

Team x-Treme spokesman Rachel Bradley said the girls, Amber, Holly, Reece, Mia, Dolly, Maia, Brogan and Samiya, were looking forward to their auditions.

She added: “Head coach and owner Sian is very excited for this opportunity to show the talents of her girls and says the girls will smash it.”
