BRADFORD rockers Stand Alone are about to play their biggest-ever show this month.

They will perform at the O2 Academy in Leeds – regular stop for big-name bands – on Saturday, January 21.

There are appearing as part of the final of the Soundwaves music competition where they will compete against several other acts in front of industry experts.

The prizes will include press and radio exposure.

A band spokesman said: “This event could potentially be life-changing and could serve as a pivot point to a brighter, more rock-filled future for these Bradford boys.

“The band have gigged extensively up and down the country since their formation in 2013 taking their infectious hard melodic rock to anyone who will listen.

“Stand Alone really excel in the live setting which boosted their fan base exponentially at each gig, catching the eyes of Soundwaves.”

Stand Alone promise back-to-basics guitar-driven rock with vocal harmonies, crossing the heavy driven riffs of Alter Bridge and Biffy Clyro with Beatlesque harmonies and heavy metal drumming.

The members are singer and guitarist Gavin Stevenson, bass Luke Harrison and drummer Tom Durrans.

Stand Alone released EP Nothing Is Forgotten last year, which received positive reviews from Photogroupie for its mature and develop sound and strong songwriting.
