ORGANISERS of a Keighley soul music night have moved across the road to a new venue.
The bi-monthly Northern Soul nights formerly held at the Exchange Arts Centre, Russell Street, will now be at the nearby New Variety Club.
Variety Club Soul will be held every two months from February, on Saturday nights, along with ‘all-dayers’ on the May and August bank holidays.
This year’s Saturdays will be February 11, April 8, June 10, August 12, October 14 and December 9, and will run from 8pm to 1am. Admission will be £3.
David Shackleton, one of the organisers, said: “We play original American and British vinyl records on the original format from the year they were produced, mainly the 1960s and 1970s.”
The February 11 event will feature guest DJs the Lancashire Survivors, Kenny “The Hat” Parkinson and Kev Jackson.
