YOUNG people from Keighley will be among members of the Bradford Catholic Youth Choir performing in the city on Sunday, January 29.

The concert at St Joseph’s Church, Packington Street, Bradford, will also involve the award-winning period instrument ensemble the Gabrieli Consort and Players.

The groups will premiere a new programme celebrating music for royal occasions across the centuries.

The concert will feature professional singers with a brass ensemble performing on baroque and modern instruments.

Gabrieli has partnered with the youth choir to run the Gabrieli Roar training scheme for young singers.

Spokesman Camilla King said: “We were founded on the principle that all young people should have access to culture, and committed to ensuring that cost is no barrier to participation.

“We provide training and performance opportunities side-by-side with our professional musicians for choirs across the country, allowing the teenagers we work with to experience great choral music at the highest level.”

The Gabrieli Roar Regional Concerts series has been introduced this year to bring the energy of Gabrieli's performances to partner choirs' home audiences.

All under-16s can attend for free, but tickets must be reserved online. All other tickets will cost £10.

All profits from the ticket sales will be donated to Bradford Catholic Youth Choir, to assist with its community work.

The concert, entitled Music for Kings, Queens and Princes, will be at St Joseph’s Church on Sunday, January 29 at 4pm. Visit ticketsource.co.uk/gabrieli to book tickets.

Gabrieli was founded 30 years ago by artistic director Paul McCreesh to perform great vocal and instrumental music from the Renaissance to the present day.
