KEIGHLEY youth theatre KYDZ is heading Behind The Scenes in its next musical production in Oakworth.

The group is creating its own fantasy world peopled with all the characters from fairytales, pantomimes and nursery rhymes.

Red Riding Hood is a burglar, Cinderella has been jilted by Prince Charming and Tinkerbell shoots down birds with her crossbow.

And the whole of Behind The Scenes is ruled over by the Queen of Hearts and her villainous cohorts like Maleficent, Abanazer and Countess Dracula.

In the latest KYDZ comedy-drama, Break A Leg, teenage actor Gregory is forced to visit this fairytale land in order to put right damage he has caused in the real world.

During a production of Peter Pan The Panto, Gregory has badly hurt rivals and friends in a bid to win the leading role.

Break A Leg is the first production by KYDZ since it expanded for the first time to 24 members. The group performs three shows a year.

The cast, aged from nine to 19, will perform a host of songs from musicals and the pop charts as part of the show.

Break A Leg will be performed at the Oakworth Methodist Church on March 10 and 11 at 7.15pm. Visit kydztheatre.co.uk to book tickets.
