A DOUBLE bill of plays in Bingley will this month showcase two sides of a Keighley mum’s talents.

Richard Walsh has written one of the plays, due to be performed Bingley Little Theatre’s Studio Upstairs, and is directing the other.

A Rewarding Affair and Cupboard Love will be presented together by the theatre group in addition to its main season of plays on the Arts Centre’s main stage.

Richard, a long-time member of both Keighley Playhouse and BLT, met with great success when his first play Brothers In Arms was performed in the Studio Upstairs.

The new play, A Rewarding Affair, is a thriller with a twist, bringing together a married couple whose lives are set to change after a chance meeting in a restaurant.

Playing one half of the couple will be Nick Lawrence who performed at Keighley Playhouse several years ago and is returning to the stage after working away for a time.

Newcomer Lisa Ord makes her debut on the Bingley stage after attending a theatre workshop which aimed to give new talent the opportunity to gain valuable acting experience.

The cast is completed by Tim Lobley, a hugely experienced character actor on the stages of both Bingley and Keighley.

The presentation will also feature a one act comedy, Cupboard Love character”, written by well-known playwright Jean McConnell.

This play, directed by Richard Walsh, will feature well known Keighley and Bingley actors Katherine Mitchell and Yvonne Templeton.

Richard said: “Cupboard Love is a really funny short play that will lift the spirits but continues the theme of the evening with a rather unexpected twist.”

The plays run on February 25 and 26 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5: Visit ticketsource.co.uk/bingleyartscentre or call 01274 567983 to book tickets.
