CLIFFE Castle volunteers are inviting the public to join them for the latest guided tour of improvement work in the historic Keighley park.

Conservation Group members will lead the walk on Saturday, February 18, with a particular focus on the well-advanced new Glasshouses and Palm Dome.

A spokesman said: “It is now possible to get some idea of how impressive the original Victorian buildings were and how stunning the Heritage Lottery-restored park will be very soon."

The walk, which begins at the museum entrance at 11.30am, will include information about the park features’ history.

Keighley’s Sangat Centre will provide a volunteer Urdu translator on the walk.

Visitors will also be able sweet and savoury bites in a ‘pop-up’ cafe in the museum’s Learning Room, thanks to staff by Cliffe Castle Park Conservation Group members.

The cafe, which sells traditional and modern homemade cakes and savouries, made its first appearance on February 4 and items sold out fast. Further opening dates will be announced soon.

The Heritage Tours of Cliffe Castle Park are organised by Conservation Group with support from Keighley Healthy Living. Visit cliffecastlepark.org.uk.for further information.
