DEMENTIA Friendly Keighley are hosting a rock gig and a stage play to mark World Rocks Against Dementia day.

Popular Keighley band Wolf 359 will perform on Saturday, March 18 from 8.30pm at Central Hall in Alice Street.

The young, vibrant rock band will perform two sets with an interval.

Brian Daniels’s play Don’t Leave Me Now will be presented at the venue the same day at 2pm and 4.30pm.

The play will be presented as a dramatised script-in-hand reading, exploring with humour and insight the impact of early onset dementia on family life.

Spokesman Maggie Marsden said: “It brilliantly explores so much of what it feels like to be living with dementia and can provide invaluable insight for professionals, carers and those with the illness.”

World Rocks Against Dementia is part of the worldwide Purple Angel campaign, which aims to raise awareness of dementia through the power of music.

Tickets for the gig are £3 on the door, while. Entry is free for the play. Each performance will be followed by a post-performance discussion.
