THE LIGHT Between Two Oceans will be screened by Keighley Film Club at the town’s Picture House on Sunday, April 16.

The 12a-certificate film, which lasts 133 minutes, is open to anyone and will be screened at 6pm.

The film focuses on a lighthouse keeper, played by Michael Fassbender, who retires to an Australian island to escape the brutality of the First World War.

He and his wife miraculously find a baby washed ashore which they ‘adopt’ as their own, but after happy years together they are faced with the terrible consequences of their actions.

Film Club spokesman Alan Watkinson said: “This is a moving story of love, bonding ,loss, adult relationships, guilt, sadness, conflict, fate and a moral dilemma that is not clear cut.”

The film challenges the audience to decide how far they would go to fulfil a dream when faced with possible loss - can such issues be properly resolved when there is no successful outcome?

Directed by Derek Clanfrance, the cinematography is described as amazing, jaw dropping, beautiful and amazing.

Fassbender is said to give a brilliant performance as a sensitive caring father.
