AN award-winning singer/songwriter is due to headline this year’s Fallfest in Glusburn.

Brit winner Beverley Craven will be performing on September 23.

Beverley sprang to fame in the early 1990s with hit single Promise Me, and went on to become a huge hit across Europe. She followed this up with a string of chart successes, including Memories, Holding On, Woman To Woman and Love Scenes.

The Fallfest’s gala event, a part of Beverley’s UK Tour Up Close and Personal, is scheduled for September 23 at Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre.

Organisers of Fallfest, a packed three-day festival, are promising that this year’s event will be a sell-out. Friday night sees the highly acclaimed play Two, by Jim Cartwright, performed by Falling Stars Theatre Company under the experienced eye of director, Rebecca Durham.

Daytime on the Saturday will see an enlarged farmers’ market, together with the second Fallfest Five Trail Race organised by Brett Weeden, of Keighley and Craven Athletics Club.

Fallfest volunteer, David Seaward, said: “We are constantly trying to ring the changes at Fallfest.

“To this end, 2017 will see an expansion of the trail race to include a junior event and, in a first, we are introducing the Fallfest Beer and Gin Fest.

“This will be run by Kath Thornton, who runs Haworth Beer Festival, and will comprise a range of exclusive gins and more than 15 craft beers.”
