THE Rocky Horror Picture Show will be screened this weekend against the Gothic background of Kirkstall Abbey ruins.

The heritage site will convert into a kitsch, interactive drag event as Sneaky Experience celebrate outlandish entertainment and explosive cabaret acts.

The screening of the cult classic movie, tomorrow and Saturday, will be followed by glam rock after-parties.

A spokesman said: “Prepare for outrageous fun, whether that be watching the movie itself or marvel at the highly-talented live performances from the Leeds and Manchester Queens.

“Strut your stuff down the drag-walk, or perfect your pelvic thrusts in warped dance lessons in preparation for the live DJ set from Simon G (SpeedQueen) at the glam rock after party in the ruin’s cloisters.”

There will be a licensed bar serving tantalising cocktails, street-food stalls and an on-site make-up station and photo booth.

The spokesman added: “Dressing up is expected and there are prizes for the best fancy dress, so rip those fishnets, cover yourself in glitter and come join the Sneaky team to fill the transepts with transvestites.

“More details that tease at the entertainment will be released on the Rocky Horror Outdoor Cinema & After Party Page, but in true Sneaky Experience style, the sensational line-up will only be fully revealed once inside, as the doors close behind you.”

Visit sneakyexperience.co.uk for more details about the performances and to book tickets for the event.

Kirkstall Abbey Market will run outdoors amongst the 12th century ruins on June 24 and 25 and July 29 and 30.

There will be more than 40 stalls each day featuring hand-made crafts and local produce from across Yorkshire.
