AIREDALE Symphony Orchestra will perform at King’s Hall on Sunday, June 25 at 7.30pm.

The programme will include the overture from Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto in E flat with soloist Tom Lane, Mozart’s Flute Concerto in G with soloist Oliver, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no 5.

A spokesman said: “For the summer concert of the 2016/2017 season, Airedale Symphony Orchestra presents a varied programme, which includes solo performances by two of our orchestra members.”

The orchestra will perform live music to accompany the screening of the Battle of the Somme film on July 2 at 7.30pm in King’s Hall. They will play the film score by Laura Rossi.

The Airedale Symphony Orchestra is one of the leading community orchestras in the UK, dating back to 1898, when it was known as the Keighley and District Orchestral Society.

Among the many celebrities who have performed with the orchestra over its long history are Isobel Baillie, Percy Grainger, Leon Goossens, Lady Barbirolli, Dennis Brain and Sir Henry Wood.
