Sarah Golding, institute’s coordinator, plans the group as part of wide-ranging plans for the year.

She said: “My main focus this year is offering a variety of choice for all age groups, giving everyone in the community a chance to socially engage and learn new skills through our flower arranging, sewing classes, felting workshops and gardening talks.

“People can health and wellbeing by attending our yoga classes, Zumba, dance classes, seated exercise, Weight Watchers, indoor bowls, youth club, games club, and Baby Sign Language classes.

The latest Funky Flowers workshop at Glusburn Institute will allow people to create a summer flower hand-tied bouquet using seasonal, natural blooms.

There are two workshops: Wednesday July 12 from 1.30pm to 3pm or Saturday July 22, from 10am to 12 noon.

The cost for each session is £17 which includes all materials, expert tuition, coffee and good company.
