SUTTON’s Green Hut Theatre Company are recruiting a cast for their 90th anniversary musical Oliver!.
Auditions will be held on September 20 and 21 for principal roles in the popular show, which is being performed from April 18 to 21 next year.
The group is particularly looking for boys to play the key roles of runway orphan Oliver Twist and feisty pickpocket the Artful Dodger.
Oliver! follows Charles Dickens’ young hero as he runs away from the workhouse but falls in with Fagin and his gang of London pickpockets.
He meets a range of colourful characters before discovering the secret of his past.
Songs include Food Glorious Food, Got to Pick a Pocket or Two, Consider Yourself, It’s a Fine Life and I’d Do Anything.
Anyone interested in taking part is invited to an information evening on September 13 at 7.30pm in the group’s green hut behind Costcutters, off Main Street, Sutton.
