KNAÏVE Theatre promises bold, controversial, political theatre as it brings Bin Laden: The One Man Show to Halifax.

The devised production will be staged at the Square Chapel Arts Centre on September 21 as part of a national tour.

The world’s most notorious terrorist tells his story in a show that recently toured America successfully and was critically acclaimed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

In the provocative production, Bin Laden is 28 years old, White British and charming as cream teas in summer.

A spokesman said: “With populist rhetoric playing an ever-increasing role in Western politics, Knaïve Theatre’s Tyrrell Jones and Sam Redway pry apart what it is that draws us to follow demagogues.

“They ask if the world’s most wanted terrorist might have been more persuasive than we ever imagined. They ask audiences to re-examine their own information and prejudices from a naïve perspective, just as the company have.

“In Edinburgh, the show played to frequently sold out houses, bringing together ex-Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, British Muslims, Trump supporters, former advisors to Bill Clinton, and people who knew Bin Laden personally for a compelling debate in the bar afterwards.

“Though the company expected this story would become less relevant each passing year, current global tensions and recent events have galvanised an ever-increasing appetite for the debate they inspire."
