GROOVY Happening promises a night of excellent music played in Haworth by experienced musicians on Saturday, October 7.

Headline band the Rockets are a Keighley-based classic blues rock band who started in 2010.

Groovy spokesman Ann Wiles said: “They’ve always been well-received at Groovy Happening, playing finest quality blues rock for the discerning listener. We’re very pleased to have them back again.”

Big Town Boogie, who came together in May, are a local band whose musicians play harmonica, double bass, guitar, drums and resonator guitar.

Ann said: “They play upbeat blues and R’n’B with a shuffle and swing designed to get you tapping your feet and strutting your stuff on the dance floor!”

Saturday’s line-up is completed by three solo singers, Rafael, Stuart and Adrian.

Ann said: “Rafael is well-known in Haworth as a talented guitarist and busker on Main Street. He plays a wide variety of songs from George Harrison to Katy Perry to Gershwin. From pop to blues, this is a song mix with a personal touch!

“Stuart will be at Groovy for the first time. He is a self-taught guitarist who will be performing his own compositions. Nirvana are one of his influences. “

“Adrian is making a return performance and will start the night off at 7.45pm by singing a set of Tamla Motown and popular songs.”

Admission is £3 to the event at Parkside Social Club, Butt Lane, with proceeds going to Manorlands. Doors open at 7.30pm.
