UNDER-FIVES are being given a tick list of adventurous things to do at libraries in Keighley, Silsden and Denholme.

Bradford Libraries have launched a new campaign “20 things to do in the library before the age of five” to encourage young families to visit.

The campaign will be launched during Bradford Family Learning Festival which takes place from from October 21 to 29.

Some of the items can be ticked off during the festival, such as meeting Bookstart Bear, joining the library, borrowing a book and attending a storytime.

Other items include reading a book outdoors, singing Wheels on the Bus, asking about a Baby Bookstart pack, making a story sack and completing the Rhyme Challenge.

Children can also listen to an e-audio book online through their library card, borrow 25 books at once, borrow all three Count Me In Bags, and attend a Bradford Libraries to the bears picnic.

Cllr Sarah Ferriby, the council’s Executive Member for Environment, Sport and Culture, said: "This list of activities gives some great ideas and incentives for young children and their families to explore and discover more about the district's libraries."
