CINEMA screenings, theatre performances, concerts and even a magic show are amongst the entertainment on offer at Glusburn Institute Community and Arts Centre in 2018.

The Damned United is a drama telling the story of Brian Clough, who in 1974 takes charge of Leeds United, a team he hated and despised for years. Performances are March 2 and 3.

The film My Cousin Rachel will be screened on March 9, based on novel by British author Daphne du Maurier and tells the story of a young Englishman who plots revenge against his mysterious, beautiful cousin, believing she has murdered his guardian.

Broadway Spectacular will be staged on May 19. A cast of ten professional international performers will present a selection of songs from the best Broadway and West End musicals of all time. The performance will feature hits from shows such as Phantom Of The Opera, Les Miserables, The Jersey Boys, Rock Of Ages, Chicago, Cats, Mamma Mia, Oliver, Singing In The Rain, Cabaret, Copacabana and Mary Poppins.

The acclaimed duo Kiki Dee and Carmelo Luggeri will perform on Saturday, October 27, marking Kiki’s 55th year in the music industry. The duo, who have been performing together for almost two decades, will perform songs from their latest album, covers by artists such as Kate Bush and Frank Sinatra and Kiki’s own hits.

As part of the My Pink Bin Tour, the Carl and Dave Comedy Magic show will be performed on November 17. The show will be a mix of comedy, illusions and knock-about fun.

Soul Train, a seven-piece band, will perform the soulful sounds of the late 60s and early 70s for a Glusburn audience on December 8. The band will perform classic soul hits from the Stax and Motown labels including songs by Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder and Wilson Pickett.
