BEN BLUE Waters hosts an Acoustic Special at the Kings Arms, Haworth, on Friday December, 29.

The 8pm gig will be headlined by will be headlined by Phil Dirt and Chris Dover. Phil is the leader of Phil Dirt And The Heavy Machines, and Chris is the main man of The Hoodoo Operators.

Ben said: “Although they have guested with each other’s bands, this is their first appearance as a duo. Not sure what to expect, but rest assured it will be a heady, edgy mix of swampy blues, rockabilly stomp and badass country music, played with swagger and passion.”

Support will come from Americana singer/songwriter Steve Chapman Smith, who has had a wide and varied musical career.

Ben said: “He has performed and recorded with bands Ada Wilson and Keeping Dark, Just Frank, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Ghostdance, Fiat Lux, Stranger Than Fiction, and The Troubadours.

“He had the pleasure of recording four John Peel sessions at the BBC Maida Vale studios with Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and Ghostdance. The last three years have seen Steve following a solo career playing acoustic shows and releasing CDs, Rise, Justice and The Outsider, featuring gritty songs about real life with no rose-tinted glasses!”

Footstomping slide guitarist Ben Blue Waters will host the night and play the opening set of blues classics and originals.
