IRISH rock legend Pat McManus will be playing Keighley’s Octagon Live on Friday, April 13 in the latest gig organised by BAC2Live.

The former Mamas Boys and Celtus guitarist and violin virtuoso will perform with his band, drummer Paul Fallon and bassist/vocalist Marty McDermott.

The trio are currently on their 21st European tour playing their own brand of blues rock infused with a touch of the Celtic.

This year will see the release of the band’s sixth studio album Tattooed in Blue.

Support comes from local blues rockers The Road.

Celtus were a Celtic new age band founded by Pat and John McManus of Mama’s Boys.

The sound of the band was described by their manager as “Pink Floyd meets Clannad meets Enigma”.

After recording two studio albums for Sony S2, the band went on to record three more albums before disbanding.

The final BAC2Live gig of the spring will be on June 15, when former Georgia Satellites frontman Dan Baird performs a fiery brand of Southern Rock with his band Homemade Sin.

The debut at the Octagon, in Bradford Road, Sandbeds, follows Dan’s gig at Bingley Arts Centre last summer when he was taken ill and had to have a lengthy stay in Airedale Hospital.

He has decided to play the latest gig as a thank you for his care. A donation from every ticket sold will be made to Airedale Hospital.

Support comes from Last Great Dreamers.
